DESWIK co-founder national finalist in EY Entrepreneur Of The Year
Deswik is pleased to announce that Wayne Romer has been selected as a National Finalist for the Northern Region in the 2016 EY Entrepreneur of The Year awards. Wayne joins other outstanding entrepreneurs from across Australia who will compete for the ultimate prize of being named 2016 Australian EY Entrepreneur of The Year.
Deswik originally began when Wayne acquired a mill manufacturing business with his business partner. In 2008, he launched a consulting company within the business and started developing software tools, which formed the original basis for the current Deswik software. In 2011, Wayne sold the manufacturing part of the business to concentrate on software development and consulting.
Since then, Deswik has been growing from strength to strength. The Deswik software suite is currently used in over 150 mine sites across more than 50 countries. In less than five years, nine of the top 10 global mining companies have adopted the Deswik Suite as their mine planning solution of choice.
Wayne Romer will join his fellow regional finalists at the national awards ceremony on 20th October in Sydney where The Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 will be announced.
