Supporting Women in STEM
Deswik is pleased to take part in the Austmine Women in STEM: METS Career Pathway Program.
Austmine is the leading industry body in Australia for the mining equipment, technology and services (METS) sector. Through the Women in STEM: METS Career Pathway program, Austmine aims to support and promote women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) while improving gender diversity in the METS sector. The program will connect METS members and universities to help foster stronger linkages between female STEM students and a METS career.
In joining this program, Deswik will provide students with on-the-job experience, mentoring and soft skills training for a successful STEM career in the METS sector.
Deswik is an equal opportunity employer striving for a diverse, inclusive workplace. As a company involved in two STEM-related industries (computer science and mining engineering) which are currently experiencing a substantial shortage of female employees, we are committed to supporting the next generation of female engineers.
We have also been working closely with renowned universities around the world through the Deswik for Universities program, which enables future mining engineers to gain the right software skills to succeed in the mining industry. Through these education partnerships, we provide software licenses, training material, tutorial videos and on-site workshops.
